Star in my Eye by filsie65

Star in my Eye

Spent ages on this and have realised that my pupil is not a perfect circle, neither is my iris which has more pattern than I expected, also found that there is no 'selective exposure' option on picmonkey or ribbet. Friends said 'eurgh' when they saw it in pale grey so I added a star pattern thing from Ribbet and did my best to remove the hospital notes. (My eye is brown but the scan came out a rather insipid grey) It's not quite a circle but I did promise to post a pic of it sometime and it did seem to fit the circular theme.
(This is a scan of my left eye shortly after my iridotomy (you can see the tiny lasered hole at about 1 o'clock) with all kinds of processing over it)
So grateful to you for your comments on my sepia pix yesterday...the sheep got the most 'votes' so they are being placed in my calendar for september and the river relegated to my 'just stuff' folder.
Have a stupendously marvellous weekend!! :)

Cool shot! The patterns on your iris make it look almost like a cratered alien landscape with the starry texture overlay :)

Quite a hypnotic photo....pulls you in to the black hole (your pupil)....definately a unique view!

I'm not sure what you mean by "selective exposure" but wouldn't you be able to dabble with the color and then paint some of the original shot back in? Anyway- this came out looking quite interesting with the coloring you chose. I don't think I'd be able to stare into the camera that well.

Cool Shot. I don't know how you managed to get such good focus on your eyeball. Neat.

@olivetreeann I thought so too, but 'brown' never seems to be a tint offered and there were so many shades here it was impossible to paint colour in without it showing as an alteration. (even before adding the starburst). You can make a picture brighter or darker but you can't make large areas brighter or darker, except by burning/dodging which seemed to whiten rather than lighten if that makes any sense. In the end (the left hand side of the scan was very dark) I added a white vignette to try and balance it up and felt the only way to make it brown was to sepia it!

@filsie65 Funny that you should mention the whiten vs. lighten issue. I was playing around with some things in Picmonkey today and came up against the same thing.

Very cool! You have a lovely eye! I love what you did with the photo! You should go back to my year one album and see if you can find my eye ... but you don't have to. Anyway, great pic! And the processing is cool too! :)
