A Countrywoman's Notes

The first line had me in this book by Rosemary Verey who lived at Barnsley House in the Cotswolds. Since joining 365, I look even more closely at the beautiful countryside around me and the patterns and small details in nature. The engraving on the left is by George Tute and is a familiar scene to me, as it will be in other villages in the UK, but it seems so personal. I'm going to enjoy this book, a gift from a dear friend who knows me so well.
How nice to have a book to savour. I've just finished Tracey Chevalier's latest, very enjoyable.
