Goofy fix of a sub-optimal picture of Terry getting on the bus this morning. It was not yet full light. I got to work early and just worked all day. When I described my day at dinner, I described the lunch festivities for new faculty orientation that included pasta and chicken and vegetables and salad and deans and vice presidents and speeches and brownies. Having food right outside the office door was fine, but then sitting and listening to the intros was...long. Had a few nice conversations with people I'd not seen for a while before lunch, however. One man's two sons just took a month off work together so they could motorcycle across the country on the Trans-America Trail, which stretches from Tennessee to Washington state. We shared parental concerns over seeing one's children head out on a 5000 mile "dual-sport motorcycle adventure" of off-road biking, but they are safely returned. My colleague said he didn't know whether to be mad or jealous.
My day consisted of check-lists and crossing items off on after the other.
I was going to finish off the day visiting your photos, but the internet connection is too slow tonight...
the colours are cool too
