rusty swing chain_17:365

This morning I decided to head outside and only take pictures of things I found on the ground . . . an unlimited supply of subjects. A discarded rusty swing chain caught my attention and kept me busy for about an hour shooting different parts of the chain at different angles. It was difficult choosing one final image to upload . . . this one seemed more "intense" than the others . . . not sure if that will make sense to anyone but I sure felt it. Once again I have to comment on how much I am enjoying this project. I thought at first I would feel stressed with the task of posting a photo every day but instead what I feel is excitement thinking of the different photo opportunities and lessons each day will bring.
I'm so glad you're enjoying this, Gayle - I totally agree with how you're looking at this! It definitely does give purpose to going out walking. What did you teach (I'm a retired teacher, too). You're really showing off some great texture on this rusty swing chain - and like the colors. Your dof was ideal for this shot. Nicely done.

@milaniet Thank you so much for your comments! Your encouragement is very much appreciated! I taught elementary school, retired after 26 years, the last 10 years in 3rd grade. What did you teach?

Great shot Gayle! I love your dof. I am also a teacher (not retired yet...) but I work in a prison in New Zealand.

@alinz Thank you! New Zealand is on my list of places to visit now that I'm retired.

Excellent shot. You are definitely bringing alive everyday things that you wouldn't normally have given a second glance to. What fun! One day I will have the time ......
