I ventured outside again this morning with the intention of shooting pictures from the perspective of "looking up" since yesterday was "looking down" . . . my plans changed when I passed one of the sage bushes and noticed a green spider . . . and then I saw the large web covering the egg sac and baby spiders . . . LOTS of baby spiders. The wind created quite a shooting challenge which caused me to be creative in stabilizing the sage bush. This spider was extra protective of the sac and baby spiders . . . constantly crawling all around the web following my actions closely. I like this image because it shows everything . . . the adult spider, the web, the somewhat deteriorating egg sac, and if you look closely . . . the red baby spiders. I thoroughly enjoyed this spider photo session!
@essiesue Thank you! 18 photos into this project and I am absolutely loving it! Pursuing an interest in photography at this stage in my life is exciting but can be a bit daunting also. I am amazed at the encouragement and support I have received through this project. It is my motivation to keep learning and keep taking those photos.
I love a good spider shot and this is definately one of them. Gorgeous details on the spider and very interesting to look at, especially after reading the comment.
@tristansmum Wow! How awesome that you found the spider in the Audubon guide! I looked up green lynx spider online and yes, that was definitely a green lynx spider. I enjoyed reading about it and viewing the images since I had that first hand experience with it. So cool! Thank you!
