30 Days Wild - Day 3 by gaylewood

30 Days Wild - Day 3

I am going to thoroughly enjoy taking photos of all the different birds here at Lake Winnipeg! Here is a new bird for me . . . Cedar Waxwing! I'm so excited! I have been coming here every summer for over 30 years and this is the first time I've taken a photo of this bird...or really even noticed it. Once again, thanks to this project my eyes are now wide open to my beautiful surroundings.
They are such pretty little things - I love the bright bits of color on their wings!

Wonderful catch on these beautiful birds - just love their unique markings and that neat mask - glad you made it up there safely. I so agree with your observation about how 365 has opened my eyes.

My Texan friends were talking about seeing the Cedar Waxwing in their yard whilst we were with them last night! Enjoy your birdwatching - I look forward to more captures.

I love these guys. I used to see them in Houston down by the Bayou. They are very fast though and hang around in groups if I remember correctly. Lovely.

That is SO COOL! I, too, took a photo of a Ceder wAxwing, the first I've ever seen in the yard (or anywhere!) I thought it was a blue jay until I zoomed in and saw the tip of the tail...which is what I used to identify it as well! What fun to be sharing some of the same summer experiences!
