Peony bud . . . getting ready to bloom! The peonies here at the cottage were originally planted by my husband's grandmother 80 years ago. They still bloom beautifully every year.
They're a classic in a summer garden up north, aren't they?! It fascinates me that they clearly pair with the big black ants! When those ants get inside, I can't bring myself to kill them, so I try to catch them on a wet cloth and take them back outside. (An ungrateful one bit me once!) Any day now I think they'll clear the house to go be with their favourite blooms!
I love this. Especially with that pair of ants. It looks to be doing pretty well for 80 years old! Shame we humans don't age that well! Lovely composition, focus , colour .... everything.
@Weezilou Thank you so much for your comment and fav, Louise! Yes, they are definitely a classic in the gardens around here! They're so beautiful! I just love them! :-)
@milaniet Thanks so much for commenting, Milanie! Oh, yes! I'm definitely enjoying the 30dayswild theme! Outdoors is my favorite place to be with my camera so this tag challenge is just perfect for me! :-)
