Yep folks, this is me, in my vegetable garden. I must say, I haven't changed a bit. Big LOL! Facts are, the Tomatoes and Cukes are coming in smaller (in tired soil) but the waistline is bigger. :-D (Don't think I can't hear you laughing and snorting and chortling!!)
Thank you for all your wonderful coments yesterday, and for a warm welcome back. x Also, my hand is FINALLY lots and LOTS better, and I can use it quite freely, but carefully. I am "over the Moon" about how much I can do now! My thumb still has a long ways to go, but is also doing much better. It is wonderful indeed, to be able to do so much of what I'm used to, and to have a lot to look forward to - like Garden Season!
(Note: In this photo I blurred out the background so you could see ME better. :-D)
Greetings! I'm from Connecticut (USA) Photography is one of my lifelong passions (others including gardening, woodworking, history, and being a part...
@mwarren365 Mornin' Mike - This Garden was about 1000 square ft., and wasn't nearly big enough for all my desires. The Tomatoes were HUGE that year - 1/12 pounders, were commonplace. I'm doing just fine, thank you for asking. My hand is much improved, and I am soooo pleased. Take care, Les
@princesicita Thanks ever so much for your compliment; pretty was never something I considered myself to be, and so you've made me blush. :-D I wish that you also could have a Garden. Given the nature of your photographs, and the meaningful quotes that accompany them, I regard you as a gentle soul. I know that a Garden would thrive in your care, and that you would delight in its endless wonders. Be very well, Les
@denisedaly Ahhhh, many thanks Denise.......And it is true indeed, in my Garden, I am in my "sanctuary", and I am well content. And I am going to take a current "selfie" sometime soon, to bring me up to date. :-D Be very well, Les
What a "green thumb" you have, Leslie! My husband is the gardner in the family and could spend hours in one. Right now we are renting . . but at the end of the year we'll be looking. You are beautiful and it's a great selfie. Didn't know that you had a hand problem . . did you have to get surgery done? Hope that all is o.k. :)
@moirab Lots of thanks Moira. My Gardens, well, I guess you could say that they are my sanctuary. I'm absolutely potty about all my plants, and they know it, every one. :-D I love, and appreciate, and care for them, and they offer me abudance (in many ways). I would be a very diiferent person if not for my Gardens. Great to see you, Les xx
@jml0306 Hello Joseph, and nice to see you. I appreciate such a nice compliment; I think Regan was president last time I heard that! LOL A good New Year to you ans yours, Les
@karenann Hello my new friend, and you are too kind. :-D I hope that you will find a place that suits you to a tee, and, that you join in with the gardening; it quiets the mind, and refreshes the soul - at least for me! :-D My hand, OMG! Yes, I had 2 surgeries OCT 26 to correct an old and a new injury (which absolutely trashed my thumb!) Things didn't go paticularly well; the surgeries were much more invasive than I was given to believe, and then there were complications. I could not use my hand at all for a very long time. But all that is behind me now, and my life is FINALLY back to normal. It took a lot out of me, but I'm a Yankee, and I'm Irish, so it'll take a whole helluva lot more than to get the better of me! :-D Hope you are having a gentle week, Les
Oh Les, so sorry to hear about the hand. That reallly sounds like alot of pain. I'm so glad that you're on the way to recovery. Yes, the gardening helps my husband to relax and soothe his soul too. I know that you can't keep a Yankee and an Irish girl down . . too spunky! Bless you, Les. :)
Hi Les - fantastic photo. Now we know what you look like. Great garden and great photo; I bet you haven't changed a bit! I am so glad your thumb is feeling better.
@karenann I'll tell you true, if I had any enemies, I wouldn't wish them a single moment of how godawful the pain could get. But I'm doing loads better, and grateful for it. Oh, just for "grins and giggles", 2 days after my surgery, we had the worst snowstorm EVER, and I had to manage on my own for 9 days without power. The warmest it got inside was 43F. BUT: I've got pictures! Will post them soon. Stay well, Les x
@netkonnexion Hi Hi Hi ! Ahh Damon, fantastic to hear from you, and thanks for you always kind sentments. I missed me too. LOL
Be checking you out soon........A good New Year to you and yours, Les
Forty-three degrees! GASP! You didn't stay there for nine days, did you? How did the water pipes do?! We had a furnace go out while in Minnesota for 8 hours on the coldest day ever. I thought that I'd die. You are one strong lady, Les. Can't wait to see the photos. :)
@nicolecampbell Much appreciated Nic, and thanks for your kind sentiment; really grateful that the real healing is well underway. Hate to disappoint, but I have changed. Well, maybe a little. Well, maybe a little more. LOL All the best, Les xx
A great selfie, then and now. Love the look of the garden, got so much to do to get mine ready for this year. So pleased your hand is a lot better, take care!
Be checking you out soon........A good New Year to you and yours, Les
