A gorgeous, unrestored example of what dedicated firefighters used long, long ago. (Not pictured are the rails in the front to hitch up the team.) In the back of the restored fire house, when I looked down at the original wooden flooring, I instantly noticed the long, wide section that was deeply gouged, furrowed, and rutted. Huh? What from? Eureka! I've got it - horses! Indeed, I was standing in what used to be the stable, and those churned up floorboards were exactly where the horses lunged out of their stalls to the front of this very engine and wait to be hitched up. Boggles my mind........(Thank you kindly for all of your recent views, and comments, and favs; I hope soon to reciprocate - I am simply Desparate for time.)

@karenann A belated "thank you" Karenann. The floor really was something I wanted to photograph, but I just couldn't get anything that really depicted what was going on thee, plus, the lighting was awful. Take care, Les x
