No Lifeguard On Duty

As you can see, English Sparrows are enthousiatic bathers! How many can you count? Even in very cold temps, (15F) they will not only drink, but splash around in the late morning. Early morning, I go out with an old, batted copper kettle filled with boiling water to clean and refill the bird bath. If I forgot to empty it the previous night, I need to make a 2nd trip with the kettle, as well as use an ice chipper to hack away at the solid ice. Other birds drink from it as well, but do not bathe and frolic like this lot.
(Note: I softened the foreground to better show the tweeties.)

Love this capture, Les!! Great movement of the little "bathers and drinkers!" Beautiful pov and color and textures. I guess I need a birdbath in my yard to get something this great. :) xo
