@onie_m Thanks so much, Onie! I have learned to watch and wait! this one was buzzing around as I was mowing the lawn today. I stopped and ran for my camera and he obliged me by still being there when I got back!
These guys are very creepy but soooo cool! Every picture of them seems to be different, yet similar. Their colors, shapes and evil look continue to amaze each time I see them close up. Nice capture!
@maggiemae he is but the whole top half of his tail is a beautiful light blue. It looks white in this shot and you can't see it very well from this angle.
@mikegifford Thanks so much Mike. Now this one does look a little creepy but most of the ones I see face on look as if they are smiling with a goofy smile. It is interesting to see the variety which I never noticed before 365 either.

Love this viewed large, I see what you mean about the yellow spots. It looks like he was shot with a mini machine gun and the light is shining through. Or maybe an alien, like 'Cocoon' (remember that film?). Great shot!
Have tried often to get dragon flies, but they are so quick!!
