I'm not sure if there is anything still blooming in the gardens around here but this is so pretty! How lovely for you!

@grammynmy favourite colour is yellow - I have a few yellow roses but I also have the most beautiful pink one saved from a garden that was going to be demolished

Even with it's rough edges, it is beautiful lucky you to still have roses

very nice shot and lighting. love the sharp definition of the petals and the pink is a lovely pink. relish its beauty but hopefully it holds till spring when it's ready to bloom again.

should i cut my roses to the ground for the winter? i know nothing about gardening but i need to do it this time as the bastard who used to do it left me with the chore. :-)

@deb60 We are expecting a freeze tonight so I imagine they wil all be dead tomorrow!
@summerfield sorry for being so slow to respind about your rose dilemma! I am not sure what to tell you because your winter conditions are so much harsher than ours! " Roses should be pruned in early spring at the end of the dormant season. In Toronto this is usually in April or May, just before new growth begins and as the buds begin to swell. Wait until the danger of a hard frost is past or newly pruned tips may be killed." Be sure to save the thorns so you can send him a bouquet! ;~}
