how is it different from the american goldfinch? why am i asking, why don't i google? :-P what an absolutely delicious dof you got there, girlfriend! aces!
@francoise@judithdeacon@nicolecampbell@darsphotos@mcsiegle@summerfield@bill_fe two of my very good friends were quick to point out this is a goldfinch not a chickadee! When I wrote that I thought it I might be wrong but instead of researching first I just went blindly ahead in my fatigue. Mea culpa!! Thanks for all your kind comments and for setting me straight Bill , and Vikki
@grammyn - how i recognize goldfinch is i read donna tartt's book "the goldfinch" two years ago and i see the bird on the cover all the time. this happened to me on the pick up car last night. sometimes talking out of the ass as i glide along life is no good, i think. :-)
That's because it's a Goldfinch! But don't feel bad- I'm sure the Goldfinch was far too interested in the seeds to be concerned about his name. Good shot!
Nice capture of the colorful bird. π I can tell itβs not a robin, a crow, a bluebird, a cardinal, a wren or a starling... but I am certainly not one of your smart friends when it comes to birds!
@olivetreeann so when I typed it I knew it wasn't right but I didn't take the time to research it. It is the brightest colored goldfinch I have seen at my feeder! Chalk it up to a senior moment, thanks so much. @marilyn I knew better but got lost in the moment! That's what I get for rushing me instead of taking my time. glad you like it and thanks for the forgiveness π³π
