Unwanted Visitor!!!

We have many toads in our area & they do like to sit in the heart of my Bromeliads. This quite ugly fellow took lots of ' encouragement ' to leave my plant!!!
He is ugly! LOL

Definitely spoils your beautiful plant but he had found a comfy spot. Lovely capture of the markings on the Bromellad.

Bless him , I ,like Sue @susiemc quite like to see frogs and toads -- after all they are doing you a great favour in eating and getting rid of slugs,snails , and other garden grubs that spoil your plants . Great capture and well spotted !

Good example of the Bromeliad but he does look very comfortable so I can understand why it was unwilling to move

@lindasees @msmichelley @elmay @susiemc @beryl @koalagardens @hermann @kerristephens @ninaganci @gijsje @zdenka @kelly2 This is not a ‘nice’ toad.
Cane toads were released in North Queensland in 1935 to help control beetles that were damaging sugar cane crops. But they quickly became pests, and later migrated rapidly poisoning native species. They are considered a pest in Australia because they poison pets and injure humans with their toxins & poison many native animals. Their diet includes frogs, tadpoles and frogs' eggs -Cane Toads have venom-secreting poison glands (known as parotoid glands) or swellings on each shoulder where poison is released when they are threatened. Cane toads are spreading fast and will soon infest the whole country. Birds (and animals) eat them and die. Some of our birds have learned to turn the toad over on its back and attack it only from the front, which is safe.
