No.1 William Street, also referred to as ‘Tower of Power’, is a high-rise commercial building constructed in the Brisbane central business district in Queensland, Australia. The building was developed by Cbus Property to accommodate the Queensland Public Service. It was built at a cost of $653m.
The commercial office tower accelerates the plans to redevelop the entire George Street government administrative precinct for achieving proximity to Parliament House. The N0.1 William Street development also cuts the government office portfolio at the central business district (CBD), and saves taxpayers approximately $60m a year.
No.1 William Street is the first new government office building in the Brisbane CBD since 2004. It is the second tallest tower in Brisbane and one of the largest in Australia.
