Pruned Trees

it funny to see a row of people with no phones, no drinks and no communication?

The pruning is done for creating shadows on the house/building in summer.

@beverley365 The people are part of our biking group. We were waiting to tour an heirloom tulip garden. Some of the tulip bulbs in this garden were from bulb types first brought in to the Netherlands in the late 1800' and early 1900's...some even earlier.

@pyrrhula Thank you! I had asked why the trees were pruned this way and was told it was tradition. It is nice to hear why. I had thought maybe to keep them from taking up too much space. Thank you for telling me!
