Here I thought I only had one Pine Siskin visiting, with a lot of Goldfinch(es?) but apparently there are a multitude of them too. They just tend to come to the feeder one at a time since they don't seem to play well with others... Lately they've been trying to come eat at the same time and there has been a lot of strife! Got this shot in one of the quieter moments...
the word is out. i saw a picture on facebook today of people painting the snowbanks in front of their houses in your area. wonder what three boys could come up with?
Your comments and captions are always so hysterical! It's a pity more people aren't here to enjoy your photos and writing style! Regarding birds that don't play well together, Ken and I were amazed when we watched the mama hummingbird actually running off one and then a second finch from her feeder! I was surprised that the larger birds would try to drink out of the feeder but more amazed that she might get so huffy about it! But wait! (as the ads go!) She was on a tear and the next pitiable creature in her line of sight was Frosty! She actually went flying at her! Ken always laughs that it's a good thing they're not any bigger or they'd be dangerous!
