Unexpected action shot of the newest, largest visitor to our feeders. He does considerable damage to the food supply, as you can imagine - but he's so fascinating to watch I don't really mind at all...
That's the first thing I saw, his tongue! Wonderful timing Holly you captured him so very well...When we like something we do overlook a whole lot of things including the cost of what it takes to feed our little friends.
What a brilliant capture! That looks so much like a hummingbird tongue (albeit a bit larger!) (Who thought we'd be discussing tongue-size on this site!) Yah, we pay the "big bucks" to keep all the animals and birds happily fed, but they're always around for photos when I go out to visit them. And what a delight they are!
