I emerged into consciousness this morning, with the information that it was national fungus day being announced on the radio. This gave me an excuse to have one last shot at a plausible capture of the fungi in the deep shade of a pine tree in our nearby park. This time, on the way to church, I paused for long enough to be able to improve on previous attempts, and indeed had two competing compositions. This one has won because I like the little brown leaf over the top of the right cap. The internet hasn't helped me to identify them, but from the Observer Book of common Fungi, I think these are Shaggy Parasol, edible, and common.
Now back to the packing....images over the next 10 days should come from a very different land.
