As I walked back along the river and through the park today, there was an air of excitement starting to build. The atmosphere reminded me of a campsite after the rain has stopped and the sun comes out. There is the smell of drying out canvas and the noises of people emerging to enjoy the arrival of warmth, there is hope and colour and the sound of children playing.
Just approaching home, I spent a few moments encountering all the fun of the fair - without any people!
I can just imagine it in full swing at the weekend. The colours are great, and I like the contrast of the sky in the background - it looks like it is about to rain!
I saw them setting up the fair yesterday when I went to the doctors with Steve. Lovely to watch them getting it all ready for the river Festival on Saturday
I agree with Jerome, your words are lovely to read. I love your description, it explains so clearly the crescendo of the activities! Wonderful light and colors in this, and your composition is so nice!
