Man Made: The balcony

A quick decision on today's post as nothing stands out - except my waiting bed!

Trying hard to find items of interest in Bedford. This is on a BT Office building which apparently used to be called telephone house, and housed the electromechanical switches that were all part of getting a call through to the right place. I cant find out much else about the building - but I am rather fond of curved brickwork.
Love the curves. Is the old Bedford Prison still there and I seem to remember an old pub in Bedford called The Barley Mow I think, I wonder if that is still there too.

The structure is interesting -- b&w might bring that out more, with maybe some higher contrast levels.

Quite a interesting find, love how it looks!

Very interesting picture. Great angle.

Well done for making a harmonious composition out of unpromising materials - I think the colours are subtle and I love that little weed poking forth.

Liking all the curves, and particularly that tenacious plant growing out from the wall. Interesting shot.

Congrats on PP. This has such an art deco feel to it. Great shot!

What I really love about Bedford are the beautiful old Victorian houses scattered around the town (I am sure you know the ones I mean) especially around Park Avenue. I would love to see your take on those, your pov is so great :)

@onewing you have your answer in today's shot. Thank you for your interest in all my project photos - it is a real encouragement.

@taffy thank you for the suggestion. I had tried the B&W but wasn't convinced - you were right though about increasing the contrast which I went back and did with improved results.

@shylaine3304 Thank you Erika.

@janemartin it is the only angle I had available to me - I'm finding that much of what is interest in looking around the town is looking upwards. Thanks for the comment Jane.

@justabetina thank you so much. The weed amused me too but Im finding lots more of the same around Bedford.

@flowerfairyann yes Ann - the stray plants always add an interesting feature to the architectural shots. nature has a way of creeping back in (thank goodness).

@ivan thanks Ivan. I like a good bit of architectural feature!

@auricula42 Why thank you. I am most honoured.

@daisyditch I was trying to decide if it was art deco - we have some of that around us but it is mostly more ornate. Thank you for the challenge I will think on it and go take a look. There are some lovely buildings in Bedford but they are much obscured by the ones that should never have had planning permission and the lack of respect to them in the commercialism at ground floor level across the town.
