Conte crayon saves the day by helenhall

Conte crayon saves the day

I'm struggling with Fridays at the moment. It shouldn't be so, as this is the day I don't work. I start the day with a long list of impossible tasks, and then fail in almost all of them. If I do get out to walk or with the camera, I feel bad because I'm not doing the tasks! It is almost easier to be at work.

So today, I did take a wander into town and noticed the brambles flowering and blackberries starting to ripen. 'Not yet' I protested to myself, 'it is not fair to progress to Autumn so quickly. I am just not ready' - and then the morose thinking about the accelerating passage of time, and the accelerating deterioration of body began.......

So no great enthusiasm was present as I tried to capture the proximity of blackberry picking and it showed in the results. That is where photoshop artistic filters come into play, and today, it was conte crayon that saved the day.

View on black if you wish.
oooh now it turns out i just love a bit of conte crayon. really cool result, in my view. maybe next friday the sole task could be enjoying yourself with your camera on your day off?

I like that it comes across as a metallic print.

Wow! I learn so much about different processing techniques by viewing your photos, Helen. I did some research on this conté crayon sketch filter and then read the description/history of Conté Crayons used by many of the world's greatest artists. So interesting! This is a very cool image! After my online reading about conté crayons I have a different appreciation for this artistic image. :-)

Interesting, metallic effect.
I love your text. You are such a good writer! I recognised myself totally in your story, haha.

Excellent editing. I think I would scrap the lists if I were you they never work and just leave you stressed. I'd just play it by ear and if things don't get done, there is always tomorrow.

Whilst I have no clue what conte crayon is, I can totally empathise with your beautifully written story. Now to off to search the net, my interest has been sparked!

First I have heard of Conte Crayon, but thought the greyness of the image seems to mirror your thoughts. If I had a penny for every well intentioned list written!

i like this Helen, quite abstract/surreal and very different.. very good too..
Lists? i decide if there is an important job for the day.. if there is then that is where i concentrate my attention.. if i achieve anything beside this one job i'm in clover.. if not, well, it doesn't matter because tomorrow is a brand new day full of endless possibilities.. :-)
