Staying with the calm and serene theme for the next couple of shots. I am always pleased to see the heron at the weir and have many photos to show for it. The two I am posting today are not the best of the bird, by any means, but I just loved the effect of the golden hour on the water, the colours of the reflected clouds and the ripples made in the water by the bird. This one is better of the bird, but the one in my alternative album has the more interesting water effects. So you get them both.
a classic pose and composition.. obviously i just love the implied textures of the ripples as the water surges past and around it's feet/legs. the light and colours are sublime.. for me the other image has 'more about it' in terms of story..
