Proportional Representation

The first in a series from Stowe Landscape Gardens, visited on a fine Autumn day this last Sunday. (Or, the second, if you count the detail posted yesterday as an abstract).

This is Venus, housed in the Rotundo, and a recent gilt replacement of the original. Venus - the Goddess of Love and Beauty, but I read too that she is also thought to be a bringer of good fortune.

And so it is, that all is revealed.

All is revealed indeed! What is that by her thighs? Another hand?

@maggiemae it wasn't entirely apparent to me, but my husband thought it to be a fish. You see here, the tail of the said fish.

Oh, this is a fantastic follow-up image to your 'touch of good fortune' abstract! Venus - the Goddess of love, sex, beauty, and fertility...how could she NOT be a bringer of good fortune? Wonderful point of view, Helen! :-)

I had a feeling your "clue" was a hint of sorts. Oo-la-la!

and all was revealed. Loved you clue. Nice POV.

It took a bit of Italianness in guessing: we usually call luck with the name of a clearly identified area of the human body, not on the front side, where - it seems - Venus excelled...

Well, I would never have guess this! It's a beautiful sculpture.
