Temple of Ancient Virtue

Here is my second snippet from the magnificent gardens at Stowe. Of course Capability Brown got his hands on the landscaping, but the gardens were originally designed by Lord Cobham. 'He set the gardens out to reveal his beliefs about the politics and morality of the day. Which path will you choose - Vice, Virtue or Liberty?'

I think that I can safely say, that the path we took, included elements of all three intertwined and at times, one indistinguishable from the other.

It was a busy day at the gardens, so the chosen angle with some of the temple obscured has more to do with keeping visitors hidden from the scene than anything else. But I think it works.
I liike the composition, the way the dramatic columns peek out from behind the shrubbery.

Nicely framed by the trees.

I like the softness of the trees and leaves against the dramatic columns. Makes it a very strong photograph.

Beautiful ...

I like the way the trees are transitioning from summer to autumn in the frame as well as the way they outline the columns.

I like it. Not sure if it's influence is Greek or Roman but it is sitting happily in the landscape. Lovely photo looking up to it from this pov.

Indeed, this has "some capabilities," as Brown always said. Beautiful light.
