Brant Point Lighthouse, Nantucket by helenhall

Brant Point Lighthouse, Nantucket

This light house features on the front of a leaflet we picked up advertising Nantucket Island. I took a number of shots trying to replicate that photo, but decided it had been taken a good few years ago, perhaps after a recent lick of paint. This particular image has benn pushed through a warming filter in a way which I have not previously used. After playing around for a while, this was the result that I instantly liked. But maybe tomorrow, I would have chosen something else.

We had a great day on Nantucket Island. everyone said we must go to Martha's Vineyard, but having checked that the ferries were not full, when we arrived at the wharf having been dropped off by our hosts, there were no tickets left. So, we took the only available option and purchased the tickets for Nantucket. Whilst sad that we missed the opportunity to visit Marthas Vineyard, we were pleased to have explored Nantucket with the help of a bus tour.
great outcome from the warming filter! must give this a try. wonderful composition and great subject. i'm enjoying your photos from this trip very much. it's a part of the world i don't know and would love to visit, and you are only increasing this desire :)

Very nice architecture! Is it allowed to enter the lighthouse and enjoy the view from the top?

@jerome Unfortunately not Jerome. We didn't get inside any of the numerous lighthouses around the Cape. Thank you for your most welcome visit back to my project. It is good to have you back.
