This project has taught me that what I should have done is take some bracketed shots so that the background could have been replaced with a less exposed shot. Either that, or I should not have taken into the sun. But what sun? It was raining.
Posting to mark the day as we move on to Easter Celebrations.
its a good record. if you shot RAW you might be able to faff with it, i think best to slightly underexpose in overcast conditions, well i do all the time actually
I am impressed by the folks who came out in the weather for this service! Knowing how to approach the lighting in a shot (and anything "mechanical" like that) is my weak spot. I hope to take a class this year to learn. But bracketing is always a good thing to do when you're uncertain about what will look best. However, you might be able to get away with darkening it a little in specific areas if you want to play with it a little more. All in all a good record of the event.
