I'm asking you not to mind the gap in my 52 week challenge since this week we were supposed to be working on humour, in a creative manner. And, I think the absence of humour has created a bit of a gap in my project thus far this week.
The challenge left me completely stumped, despite my constant observation for a suitable scene.
I did think about working on the story of my train journey yesterday, which had me sat with my nose practically in the toilet cubicle. The comings and goings were constant and not everyone could work out how to lock the door. Often, humiliation can be humorous right? So the moment when I lifted myself off my seat to press the close door button to ease the discomfort on my sensitive nose, and attempted to do so in one swift and unobtrusive move, could have given rise to humour, as I promptly plonked my backside down onto the floor - my seat having closed back to its vertical position. But everyone pretended not to notice and the misery of the journey merely intensified. I might have been arrested had I got the camera out.
So all I have to offer - as a place holder - is my attempt to brighten up the dull grey wet day that was, with a bit of added colour.
Your mishap was not humorous, but I like the idea you had to turn the photo- it's definitely funny because your mind is trying to figure out how the "wall" can be built that way!
Oh dear, it doesn't sound like a journey you would want to remember with a photograph anyway. The platform makes a cool wall, the design could catch on!
Your story reminds me of that Chris Rea song about the highway to hell, only yours was a railway. I love the photo and the bands of different colours and texture.
Oh dear poor you, it's the kind of thing I would end up doing as well. I did cobble something together for this, last minute, it is fairly pathetic though. You got some excellent lines and colours for this shot and while I empathize with the predicament you found yourself in, the way you wrote this made me smile, ergo there is your humour...
