I have to tread very carefully on this part of the way home, lest I trip or skid amidst the autumn debris that scatters across the road, verges and pavement.
Today's wind brought down a fresh fall of conkers. They lie, bright and shiny and fresh for the picking, but whereas in my childhood, there would be hoards of children competing for the best pick of the fall, in this age of technological entertainment and health and safety concerns, they lie unwanted, except by the squirrels that can be seen every now and then, scurrying across the park with jaws clasped firmly around their treasure of the day.
Boy do they bring back memories! I loved collecting them too- I was fascinated with how smooth they were. I like your low pov here and the close-up focus.
@taffy thank you. I was intrigued as to why this shot appeals to me because it is not well focussed. I think you have the answer - it was shot very much as a passer by, rather than as a study... if that makes sense.
Conkers have the best colouring ever don't they? It's still hot and sunny here , not autumnal at all. Your picture has reminded me that it's on it's way.
