Go Alex! Go Big Ben! by helenhall

Go Alex! Go Big Ben!

It was never our intention to be here for the London Marathon. But having realised that it was right under our nose, and then that we knew someone running, we decided to hang around and wait for him. A lot of photos were taken, as we encouraged the participants along. How did we managed to miss Liam, with his distinctive long white beard?

Big Ben had a bit of trouble getting himself across the finishing line by all accounts. He hadn't accounted for his height. These runners are all at the 24 miles point.
maybe liam was big ben? :-D

They go past at such a rate of speed! Impossible to pick out one! Big Ben stands out though!

My husband was in a lottery to get into the London Marathon but alas, he was not chosen. I will be sure to show him Big Ben though...haha!

I got to this photo at exactly the same time that I saw Big Ben struggling to get under a bridge on the TV, gave me a chuckle

Watched the highlights, fabulous amount of money earned and challenges achieved.

What fun and great accomplishments of the runners. 6,6 km is the longest distance that I’ve ever managed to run...

It's always an awe-inspiring event to watch. I like how you've processed this. Twenty four miles must be one of the dark times for the runners. You can see them digging deep for the final push. Big Ben had an additional problem at the end too!

All shapes, sizes, and age, but it doesn't inspire me to do it. Well done to them. Having said that, I'm off out for a 20 mile bike ride. Good shot.

Envy! I miss running. But I never did it carrying such encumbrances, How sensible of me! So here I am again Helen... couldn't stay away long. 2 days were quite enough. Having deleted my previous account those photos can no longer be seen on 365. I'm glad of that.. feels like I can make a fresh start. (We'll see!)
