a hiding to nothing

Faced with the word Quirky for the day, I found that there was a disappointing lack of anything that could be described as such in my home. Now if I were still at Dad's, ........

But I am determined to follow these words through taking each day as it comes and doing my best with the word on that day.

We took a walk out after lunch today, despite the chill factor and the dull outlook. Our walk was little more than a quagmire from start to finish, with full focus on staying upright amidst the slippery mud. Nice weather for hippopotami. This little footbridge aroused my interest - it is a route round the back of the finger lakes that I often take - but not today, it would have been a hiding to nothing.

Is it quirky? I am not so sure, so to be on the safe side, I captured it at a quirky angle.

For February words, Quirky.
Not pleasant walking conditions but I like the tones and composition.

Oh it looks rather muddy. Hope your boots didn't suffer too much.

I know that place and I'm not going there until the tide goes out now I've seen this. Thanks for saving me a trip/slip

For me, the quirky angle adds very much to fact that the bridge looks as though it is floating on the surface of the water! Fun interpretation of the day's word...very creative!

Sometimes you have to shoot from a different angle, even fill the frame with your main subject.

What an interesting angle...increases the interest . And that the shadows / reflections echo it really works to make this interesting.
