Today has been the hottest on record here in the UK and for the main part we have been keeping well indoors with the curtains closed in an attempt to keep out the 39 degree heat.
I did venture outside in order to go to the local swimming pool and although there was a breeze if felt rather as if there was a fan heater blowing at me.
So with it being hot outdoors and dark indoors, I'm posting from Saturday when things were more bearable. This is Nikki who invited us to go along to the Battle Proms to help celebrate her 60th year. I don't usually succeed with portraits, but was quite happy with this.
You nailed it with this portrait...such good framing and the tilt of her head and that one can actually see the twinkling eyes thru the dark glasses. Kudos.
Nice portrait, very natural. The heat sounds terrible. We have been in the mountains for the best part of last week and, although warmer than usual, the temperature was mild and pleasant. Now back in the city, inside the house with all the help that technology can offer. Cooler weather is said to be coming
