I can resonate with this having spent 5 days at Greenbelt festival enjoying art, drama, poetry, debate, music and much more. By this saying, there were a myriad of artists present.
I decided not to take my big camera with no secure base (camping) and so much walking around site. It was the right decision. I left my small camera on a bench and dropped my credit card twice. In each instance my property was returned to me - a festival like no other!
Well the photos I took were few and far between - I was enjoying myself too much. And when I got home and looked at them, there was nothing worthy of posting. It was back to work and the blank 5 days here soon became a blank week and then the feeling crept back that I don't know how to continue this project to my own satisfaction.
Well, today I decided to pick up where I left off on the Year with my Camera course. I turned to the advanced composition where I got stuck last time and found a list of words designed to challenge communicating something to the viewer. My challenge is to work with them.
I also found a list of 52 prompts. The first was 'a portrait of your shoes'. So I endeavoured to combine this prompt with the first challenge.
Hence this picture of the shoes I chose to wear today. It is my favoured composition from the various attempts but in terms of conveying the word in terms of a message I don't think it succeeds. I also see a couple of technical defects.

You are always too hard on yourself. I like this shot and the composition. And since you asked, this picture conveys anticipation to me. The shoes have been tossed casually aside, but are obviously going to be used again- so now the waiting game is on. i like the colors and patterns- it gives them personality. good shot!
