John Moyer, who owns the salvage rights to the Andrea Doria, gave a presentation to the Buena Historical Society about the wreck of the Andrea Doria and the salvage efforts. The ship sank in 1956 after a collision with the MS Stockholm off the coast of New Jersey. John is holding one of the 1st class teacups they recovered. He had pictures of the bigger items. It was an interesting two hours.

I can imagine it was fascinating. We collect small pieces of pottery from a shipwrieck in Lake Michigan. After storms there are lots of small parts of cups and plates that was up onto the beach. It is fun.
