Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge by hjbenson

Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge

Drove about 15 minutes to the wildlife refuge. It consists of over 1800 acres. Through a spotting scope in the visitor center we saw the eagle. Knowing where it was I went outside and used my 300mm lens to get the inset. The rest of the picture is an overview of the refuge using 18mm. The refuge is on 99W in Sherwood just south of the Tualatin line.
The inset is in approximately in the correct position about 1 1/4 mi (2 km) away

Very cool Harry. I saw my first bald eagle last year ever. Didn't know what I'd seen until after it had snagged a fish right out of the Sacramento River. Needless to say, I was thrilled.

@webfoot Thank you Paul, they said the other day a heron had got a fish in the pond and the eagle swooped down and took the fish from the heron
