This is where Gail & I are spending our days in Salt Lake City - 5 floors of genealogical data. Today I traced my great-grandfather. who came to the United States from Sweden in 1879, three generations back in Sweden.
Retired educator - taught mathematics in high school, went back to graduate school, worked in research labs, and finally went back and taught computer science...
I wished I'd had the time to spend there when I visited Salt Lake City. I'm very much facinated with genealogy. I just recently found an ancestor who was on the Mayflower and I could hardly believe it. So few of them survived.
Ahhh - my Dad would envy you so. He's always had the greatest respect for the info in the Mormon libraries, and says that for any family genealogist having Mormon family is a really good thing!
