Years ago, I remember a multi-generational family living here. But now they are gone and with the housing market the way it is they were never able to sell. There are now tax liens on it.
Retired educator - taught mathematics in high school, went back to graduate school, worked in research labs, and finally went back and taught computer science...
That is sad. Unfortunately it is not an uncommon story at this point in time. We have older people losing their home because as property values have declined, taxes have gone up because the university keeps acquiring property and they don't pay property taxes.
@sdpace Thank you Stacy, I also want to record the not so good @kerristephens Thank you Kerri, this angle gave me the 2 houses and the apartment over the garage. @exposure4u Thank you Wendy, it is a product of our times @crickle1969 Thank you Crickle, the state college I taught in voluntarily gives the township we are in some money about equivalent to 60% of the taxes
@angievega Thank you Angie, it is happening all over the country @kimmistephens Thank you Kimmi, like the forest after a storm, hopefully it will come back @new2this Thank you Ann, it is on a road I normally do not travel and I was surprised by how much it deteriorated
@maggiemae Thank you Maggie, hopefully they will be able to capture new dreams @jjsooner Thank you Jennifer, they say the economy is on the rise. hopefully that can help @cscecil Thank you Carolyn, especially those that you have seen in better times
@mstipe Thank you Michelle, as they say 'if you don't study history, you repeat it' @webfoot Thank you Paul, the problem is this is happening everywhere
We see this all the time near our cabin (it's in Washington state) - big beautiful farm houses sitting empty and falling into disrepair. It is sad, because you know the bank won't do anything to maintain upkeep, they'll just try and recoup their losses.
Beautiful how you've captured these however.
@terek55 Thank you Terry, it is sad and I try to help where I can @stiggle Thank you Anja, I wonder if there was more that could have been done @naomi Thank you Naomi, hopefully they will get happier dreams in the future
@ruthmouch Thank you Ruth, it was a very pretty house in a nice setting @orangecrush Thank you Jerry, I dislike seeing things like this happen @vernabeth Thank you Beth, my older sister lost quite a bit of money on selling her house
Sad capture. :(
