Robin by hjbenson

Robin

As I came back from going to the post office today, this robin just ignored me and kept on looking for his lunch. Best Viewed Large.

The robin wanted to be famous and get his picture taken!
Last year we had sparrows building a nest in our tree. Some bully birds came to disrupt the nest but the robin who also lived in that tree swopped down and chased the bully bird away. They are good friend birds to have around (if your a sparrow that is).

I find it difficult to get a shot of a robin..they never stand still long enough. so this one just ignored you and you took advantage of that. neat.

Great capture! I once had a discussion with someone who told me this bird was a robin and I told her it wasn't. It turns out that the Dutch (European?) robin is very different from the American one :-)

@stiggle thank you Anja, based on your comment, I did some quick research - the american robin is about twice the sizeof the european robin and their colouring is different the one I captured is a typical american one. Thanks for allowing me to learn :)
@netkonnexion Thank youDamon, probably his lady friend was looking on :)
