Retired educator - taught mathematics in high school, went back to graduate school, worked in research labs, and finally went back and taught computer science...
I see it by the shed especially. I lived in a house where you could look out one window and it would be snowing fiercely, but out the other window it didn't snow. I think it's to do with backgrounds.
