Our stop today was in New Madrid, Missouri. From Dec. 16, 1811 through March, 1812 there were between 6,000 - 10,000 earthquakes with 5 being 8.0 or higher. The largest was 8.8 on the Richter scale. They still receive over 300 earthquakes a year, but they have all been minor ones.
