I found these ducks swimming in a tiny pond in my neighborhood today even though it was freezing cold. I quietly walked up to the bridge to grab a few pictures, not wanting to scare them away, and they all came running up the hill toward me quacking. I guess they thought I was there to feed them.
We had ducks in our local pond and the authorities said not to feed them. Then we had a freeze like we are having and some of the ducks got frozen in the ice. That is why you don't feed them they should fly south but won't if they are being fed. Less feeding of the ducks now.
@digitalrn Funny thing is, I have never seen ducks here before. I guess they migrated south from Canada. I hope they keep heading south, it felt like -22 F when I found them.
@joansmor That is good to know, my boys wanted to go feed them today. Guess we probably shouldn't.
