Magic Beans! by homeschoolmom

Magic Beans!

Imagine my surprise! I dropped my son off at Taekwondo Wednesday and headed to Wal-mart. Beside the Taekwondo building is a giant old magnolia tree, and it was covered in something red. I don't remember seeing this last year. But, the magnolia pods have spit out these magnificent shiny red beans that the locals call fruits.
Great color, framing, diagonal

This is really unusual -- an unusual bean looking thing, but very cool.

@willowdragon Thanks!
@paintdipper Thanks so much for the FAV! This variety of magnolia tree is evergreen and massive. The branches are all gnarled. It's one of my favorites to photograph.

I found a Magnolia that had done the same thing last week, but much sooner than yours and the fruit had lost its brilliant red color, so of course the pictures are not as nice! Good shot!

@mittens Thanks!
@olivetreeann Ours just started this week. I'll have to keep an eye on them to see if the colors fades.
