Yesterday at church, my husband had to do the prayer for the military and emergency responders at the end of the service. He said that for some, every day was memorial day, as they remember their fallen comrades daily. So, I thought for Memorial Day, I'd remember the fallen. The top pic I took one or two years ago, and I took the bottom right pic at my husband's friend's funeral after he fell victim to the silent wounds he sustained in combat (PTSD).The bottom left, I borrowed from another friend. This is the last photo of her husband with their boys taken the night before he deployed to Iraq. These little boys are now in high school, having grown up without a father. This is what Memorial Day is about - remembering the fallen. It's not about honoring veterans or the beginning of summer.
