Fabulous Lionfish! by homeschoolmom

Fabulous Lionfish!

I liked this lionfish in black and white better than color, because the blue background kept giving it a blue hue. I also tried it in high key and low key, but it turned out best in a fairly high contrast black and white.
beautiful shot

I like the black and white but if you have a processing program you can do a step called remove color cast which might have corrected the issue. I have used it on several pictures.

@munkoyey @pixiemac @swilde @gbsphotos @ceilidh @tuya Thanks so much.
@joansmor Yes, I should try that on my other lionfish picture. It's really blue! Good idea. Maybe I can take the purple cast off my jelly fish picture, too! I don't know why I didn't think of that. I have Photoshop Elements.

Perfect choice for black and white. Wonderful detail. I shot at an aquarium last year and found it very tricky through the glass

@jgpittenger Yes, it is tricky. In fact, I felt like I had vertigo most of the day! LOL!

These are amazing fish and it works well in b&w. We were so excited the first time we glimpsed one of these in the wild, in Kenya, then we went to Egypt and saw hundreds of them.
