Golden Era by homeschoolmom

Golden Era

This is one of the unusual macros I took at the JFK Presidential Library Monday. My question is, why do you make an expensive gold filigree necklace and put glass stones in it?
Love the picture Lisa. I have to say I agree with your question. It doesn't make any sense at all!

@ceilidh Maybe Sudan was rich in gold, but not rubies? I just found it odd. She also received a gold filigree purse from a prime minister in the middle east, but it had a bunch of diamonds and an emerald the size of a dime in the middle of it. I'll probably post it at some point, but I forgot to take a picture of the information plate, so I can't remember who gave it to her.
