A mom is on duty 24/7 from the time her first child is born until the last one leaves the nest. There is always someone who is hungry, dishes piled in the sink, something spilled on the floor, someone who needs to go to the dentist or a ride to Boy Scouts or a sports practice,..... I've been on duty for 17.5 years and have at least another 6 years to go. Course, parents all know, it doesn't end there. But, until I have homeschooled them through graduation and they head off to college, I'll still be Mom, fixing dinner every night (and I cook for an Army with 3 teenagers in the house) and take care of them when they are sick. And, they will still take out the trash, mow the grass, do their own laundry, clean their own rooms, make their own breakfast and lunch and help with other chores around the house as needed, as I continue to train them to be responsible, independent adults. For the Is It Over Yet 2 Work challenge.
@francoise Hahahaha! Definitely a challenge.
