Most of us use salt, pepper and sugar (or sweetener) every day. But, on my clean eating 24-day challenge, I can only have the pepper and a small amount of the yellow packets. This isn't too big of a change for me, as I don't normally use a lot of salt, and the pink and blue sweeteners make my hands swell. But I admit, I prefer sugar in my sweet tea (and they do make it very sweet down here in the South).
That challenge sounds interesting! By the way- the yellow packets aren't that great for you either. Try Stevia- it's an herbal sweetener that is more like sugar and you can use WAY less to satisfy your sweet tooth. I can buy it in bulk or in packets at our supermarket. I find I use less than a sixteenth of a tsp. for a cup of hot tea.
@olivetreeann I do use Stevia, but I forgot to put my little container of it in my purse, so I was stuck with the Splenda since I can't take the aspartame at all. @francoise I figured I could eat clean for 24 days. I have done great so far, because I like that kind of food. My husband cheated on day 2! LOL!
