Mrs. Johns, Boy Scout Cooking Merit Badge counselor who has a culinary degree, explains to young chef Jason that he is cutting his onion from the wrong end, which will cause it to fall apart. Who knew?
@francoise I know, it's a cross between "That's crazy!" and "I've got this!" LOL! @stownsend I didn't see any tears, but these are Boy Scouts (they are tough! LOL!). My MIL keeps hers in the refrigerator, that helps some. I don't have room in my refrigerator.
I had no idea there was a "wrong end" of the onion! But I don't remember any of my onions falling apart either, so I must be cutting them right! Love the different stages of "cooking" in this shot.
@lbingle365@randystreat Thanks! @danette@olivetreeann Apparently, you cut off the root end and leave the stem end in tact, so it stays together! News to me, but that might be why mine fall apart sometimes. LOL!
