My Get Pushed Challenge this week was to do a photo based on a "holiday" for a day this week. One of the days, tomorrow, in fact, is Rosh Hashanah, which is the Jewish New Years. It's signaled by the blowing of a ram's horn (shofar). Most Christian families don't have a shofar sitting on a shelf in their living room, but we do. LOL! For contrast, I put it on a set of deer antlers to display it. Horns only grow once, where as animals with antlers grow new ones each year.
Beautiful shofar. We have one, too! My dad worked closely with a temple and the Rabbi gave him one from Israel. It is beautiful. I am not sure what I will do with it in the years to come.
@danette My husband bought this one at a church revival in Pensacola, FL, 20 years ago or so. Mostly, it sits on a shelf. I'd really like a better way to display it.
I just realized I had not left a comment on this or the other photo you posted in response to my challenge. I think this is lovely and a very creative composition displaying it on the antlers. Well done!
