For some reason, when we moved to NH, our cat decided he only wanted to drink out of our bathroom sink. He hardly ever drinks out of his water bowl any more. He often has a wet head because the water stream hits his head and runs down his face while he is drinking (like on the left - the water was hitting his head and splashing on the side of the sink). He was recently diagnosed with hyper thyroid, a common ailment in older cats (and he's 17.5, that's 88 in human years) which makes him thirsty, too. Every time someone goes upstairs, he runs up the steps and waits on our bathroom sink, hoping someone will give him a drink.
Many cats consider dripping water a treat, with or without a medical reason for it. Have you looked into pet fountains? I let one run dry and ruined the motor, but if you're more organized than I am, my cats loved theirs while they lasted. Drinkwell is one brand. You fill them up and they recirculate, with a filter to keep the water hygienic, but since it's in motion it might appeal to your kitty.
@therubysusan We got him a fountain last year and he was afraid of it! LOL! @joansmor He bats at it with his paws, he's always like to do that. But, now he only wants to drink from there. Crazy cat. @hoosierhokie We had to stop using ice in our drinks when he was young because he always wanted to play with the ice cubes. LOL! He's afraid of the fountains. @digitalrn Surprisingly, his glucose levels are normal. They are always shocked that his blood work comes back, because cats half his age don't have numbers as good as his.
Thats to funny, we had a Siamese cat that did the same thing. He'd run into the bathroom after someone took a bath or shower, next thing there's wet law prints all over the hardwood floor lol
@twr Thanks! @jennywren Our neighbor's cat drinks out of the toilet, so I guess the sink isn't too bad! LOL! @shawnasays He is fascinated with the shower, too. I guess because we keep the shower curtain closed. He can't stand a closed door. He's nosy.

I've heard of those pet fountains that @therubysusan writes about. I know someone whose cats LOVE it. It might be a thing to try.
